Training for Clean Boats Clean Waters!

Just show up at the boat launch.

A big thank you to all of you who helped kick off the CBCW project that is so necessary for our AIS (aquatic invasive species) Grant! We had 46 attendees at the training last July in Sarah’s pole barn. Several people were then available to volunteer their time at the boat launch. With 24 volunteers we accumulated 66 hours in less than 2 months!

This summer we are urging volunteers to come to a 1 hour refresher training. You are welcome even if you were unable to attend the first training. You will hear everything you need to know to volunteer this summer. Chris, from Golden Sands, will provide the training. Sarah and Ginnie will provide the donuts! There will be an opportunity at the training to sign up for time slots most convenient to you. Sign up with a buddy and each hour counts for each person. As you know, we are mandated by the state to accrue 200 hours of volunteer time this year, between Memorial Day and Labor Day. This was one of the conditions of receiving our grant money to treat AIS. We are requesting help from as many of you as possible. Fifty volunteers would mean 4 hours of your time. Thank you to all of our Pine Lake family who have donated time and money to keep Pine Lake so beautiful and healthy.

Training this year will be at the the Boat Landing, May 27th at 9:00am. Bring a chair if you’d like to sit. Please come for a quick training, a delicious donut, and a chance to meet up with Pine Lake neighbors that you haven’t seen all winter! If you are unable to attend, please feel free to get in touch with Sarah Kirchhoff (920-960-4298 or stkirchhoffwi@gmail.com) or Ginnie Detloff (920-205-1259 or ginniedetloff@gmail.com) with any questions you might have regarding the CBCW program.
