- Historically, turnover on the Board has been very low with members serving for many years. The 2025 retirement of Jean Medway, Ginnie Detloff, and Sarah Kirchhoff is the largest turnover in recent memory. Board members are elected to three-year terms.
- The board welcomed new members, Beth Wells, Jim Nagel, and Ed Hummelt. Their term will expire in 2028.
- Beth Bush, Jim Henderson, and Fred Koch are in the second year of their terms, which will expire in 2027.
- Julie Verhaalen, John Hedstrom, and Jeff Price are in the third year of their terms, which will expire in 2026.
- Fred has announced that he will be resigning from the board in July 2026.
- Transition and Organization
- Due to the amount of turnover this year, the Board had extensive conversation about the bylaws, issues that are and are not within the purview of the Board, and how we will manage in the year ahead.
- Outcomes and Action Items:
- By the next Board meeting on October 18, each member of the board will have read the bylaws, and identified issues that should be addressed or updated.
- Each Board member (including past members, hopefully) will provide a concise job description of their position or the activities they have been involved with.
- At the next meeting we will review the Boards documentation (in physical paper and what is housed in Google Docs).
- Julie will do a primer on how to access the Board’s shared drive in Google

- Lake Health
- Fred provided an excellent summary of where we stand with milfoil treatment.
- The fall survey of the lake is complete.
- We have signed an agreement with Lake and Pond Resources, and plan to work LPR for the next 3 years.
- We have updated our lake management plan to include DASH and chemical treatment
- We are working on a grant for 3 years for approx. $43,000
- The grant application was submitted to the DNR on 9/14, but we have not heard back.
- We anticipate needing to do two surveys of the lake every year.
- After the survey, next spring, we will make the treatment plan for 2026.
- Likely DASH treatments will be used unless there is a dramatic increase in milfoil.
- Next Meeting and Adjournment

- The meeting was adjourned at 11:52.
