Original Grant: $42,000
Surveys were conducted in 2022-2023.
Only one survey was conducted in 2024 which showed 1.3 acres of milfoil
The DNR did not approve use of Procellacor this year because milfoil can become resistant to certain chemicals.
As a result, we used the remaining grant money ($12,000) plus $13,780 of our reserves for surveys and to treat the milfoil with DASH treatments.
The patches identified on the most recent survey were mostly eliminated. Estimates are that the 95% of the Milfoil is removed. However, we still have milfoil around the lake that will likely reproduce quickly. As a result, continued treatments and monitoring is critical.
We have no more grant money in 2026.
Planning to secure a bid for three years of DASH treatments. The amount of treatment required is unknown at this time. DASH treatment is approx. $3500/day.
Planning to apply for another grant from the DNR to cover future milfoil control treatments.
